Some false determinations about the problems of Turkish education system: False derivations, useless comparisons and context-free facts
Menderes Coşkun (E-mail)
Dean of the Faculty of Education, Süleyman Demirel University, Isparta, Turkey
It is not correct to leave the solution of the problems of Turkish educational system to only educational scientists. Educational scientists focus on how to teach a lesson to students best. The problem of Turkish educational system is not how to teach more subjects to students. In Turkish education system, there are structure and curriculum problems. There is a difference between how to form curriculum and how to teach curriculum. It is not the business of educational scientists to decide which lessons an engineer or a researcher of Middle East politics has to take. When curriculum or educational structure is defined correctly then educational scientists could reach and propose useful findings.
Keywords: Comparison, derivation, data, education, education scientist, elective lesson, Turkish educational system.
