Determination of effecting factors self-esteem and self-efficacy levels of school of health students

Abstract
The self-esteem is an individual's level of perceiving himself/herself as a skillful, successful, and valuable individual. When the individual thinks that he/she doesn't receive approval, like and love, then he/she develops a mask - so an artificial ego - which he/she thinks that will receive approval, like and love from other individuals. So, the sense of self includes also the self-efficacy concepts. This study was carried out to Investigating of self-esteem and self-efficacy levels of School of Health students whether if differentiate in terms of some factors. The universe of this study consists of 362 final-grade health college students. Calculating the sample size, 187 students (114 women, 73 men) have been chosen via stratified sampling method. In our study, the students' levels of self-esteem and self-efficacy have been evaluated in terms of socio-demographic and familial characteristics. It has been found that the students having healthy life-style and having strong family bounds have high levels of self-esteem and self-efficiency/sufficiency. It has been concluded that there is a positive, strong and significant association between self-efficiency/sufficiency level and self-esteem level. A program for increasing the self-esteem and self-efficiency/sufficiency of students can be developed in accordance with these findings.
